The Force Is Strong With This One: Star Wars Humble Bundle 2!

I could hardly contain my excitement when I saw the words Star Wars and Humble Bundle in my email. Humble Bundles basically let you "pay what you want" and you get a bunch of games... and I do mean a bunch! The value of these is incredible...

Anyways, the games included in the Star Wars Humble Bundle 2 are...

Pay $1 or more to unlock:
Star Wars Rebellion
Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance
Star Wars™: X-Wing vs TIE Fighter - Balance of Power Campaigns
 Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Saga
+ 10% off Humble Monthly

Pay more than the average of $7.07 (at the time of this post) to also unlock:
Star Wars: X-Wing Special Edition
Star Wars: TIE Fighter Special Edition
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
75% off up to any 3 Star Wars titles in the Humble Store coupon (excludes titles in this bundle)
+ More games coming soon!

Pay $9.99 or more to also unlock:
Star Wars Empire At War: Gold Pack
LEGO Star Wars - The Complete Saga

There's also a t-shirt if you spend more than $34.99... I ended up getting the $9.99 bundle, even though I already own KOTOR and KOTOR 2 as this just gives me an excuse to give my codes to a friend and let them experience the awesomeness of these games.

I recently dug up my joystick, and it looks like my timing is perfect. I can't wait to play TIE Fighter again!

Humble Weekly Bundle: February 25 2016 to March 2 2016 (Iceberg Interactive)

I've really been enjoying the Humble Bundles... what a wonderful idea, and I've gotten so, so many games for so cheap! My Steam library is ever growing, mostly with games I've yet to play... but I can't resist a good deal, and eventually I do get to them (mostly).

That being said, this week's was of interest to me so I ended up picking it up after checking out a few of the reviews on Steam. I've saved you the trouble of looking them up (all except two 'Mixed' are 'Positive').

For $1 or more, you unlock:
Tiny Troopers - User reviews: Very Positive (455 reviews)
Darkness Within 1: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder - User reviews: Very Positive (133 reviews)
Armada 2526 Gold Edition - User reviews: Mixed (46 reviews)
Gas Guzzlers Extreme - User reviews: Very Positive (1,476 reviews)
Nuclear Dawn - User reviews: Very Positive (1,512 reviews)

Pay more than the average ($4.05 at the time of this post) to unlock:
Inside My Radio - User reviews: Very Positive (88 reviews)
Darkness Within 2: The Dark Lineage - User reviews: Mostly Positive (49 reviews)
Vector Thrust - User reviews: Mixed (332 reviews)
Gas Guzzlers Extreme Full Metal Frenzy DLC - User reviews: Positive (14 reviews)
Gas Guzzlers Extreme Full Metal Zombie DLC - User reviews: Positive (38 reviews)

Pay more than $9 to unlock (the one I picked, since I wanted this game):
Starpoint Gemini 2 - User reviews: Mostly Positive (2,268 reviews)

You can get the Humble Bundle here but hurry because it's only on for another 6 days (until Wednesday, March 2, 2016).

Death in June feat. Miro Snejdr (Herr Lounge Corps) with Vierance, November 27th 2015

Death in June put on an excellent show in this small and intimate venue named Nocturne Nightclub on Queen St. West (it doesn't even have a sign on the door, and we had to be emailed the secret location the night before). This was the first time Death in June performed in Toronto, and it was amazing. Vierance and Herr Lounge Corps did a great job of setting up the mood for Douglas Pearce, who then knocked it out of the park (the sound was great, which I find is hit or miss for a small venue).

Toronto Blue Jays vs Texas Rangers

Huge win by the Jays, 12-2 against the Texas Rangers. Grand Slam by Encarnacion, an amazing catch by Kevin Pillar... What a game! Probably one of the best game I've ever seen at the Rogers Centre.

Great view of the field.

The obligatory CN Tower picture. Gorgeous day!

Baseball at its finest!

Peace & Love.

A couple beers in!

Leaving the Skydome.

Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour (Toronto)

Some pictures of the Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour at the Rogers Centre. The highlight of the night was Grave Digger coming out, taking the highest jump as his first jump and immediately broking its wheel.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Los Angeles Angels

The Jays lose 5-3 against the Angels in a mostly uneventful game except for the bottom of the 9th when the Jays made a final push. Unfortunately it would prove to be too little, too late.

The obligatory selfie pic.

Toronto Rock vs Rochester Knighthawks

I guess the Rock must always let in 17 against the Knighthawks! After scoring 5 goals on 5 shots, the Rock would go on to lose 17-12. Tough one!

Great goal!

The lovely Toronto Rock cheerleaders.

Tough loss.
Bonus: Here's a video of a guy getting kicked out of the game.

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

There's a YouTube video of a guy doing a whole mission in Call of Duty: Black Ops without shooting one single shot that was made as a statement that games are simple and dumb now and that you can't die in the game because it wants to keep you going and that consoles are to blame, Half-Life 2, Old School Gamer, blah blah blah. These PC elitists complain about Call of Duty, about how it's ruining gaming or whatever, I don't get it. The fact is that CoD is aimed at kids and dads who's wives only lets them play games for 30 minutes twice a week and maybe don't want to restart a level 42 times or spend 152 hours crafting potions. It's not aimed at hardcore gamers, and I don't think it ever pretended to be. It's going to be more popular because it's being dumb down to the lowest denominator therefore will sell more. It's making the gaming industry a lot of money, which in turn is helping fund the other games we all enjoy, because there are a lot of hardcore games out there to enjoy. Just stop the hate, who cares if CoD exists. It seems dumber to still play it and hate on it instead of just picking another game to play and enjoy.

Bill Burr, March 8th 2014

Bill Burr has quickly become one of my favourite comedians of all time, right up there with Louis CK. It was an absolutely hilarious show, and any time Burr is in town it's an automatic purchase.

Opening act Paul Virzi was super funny too, a perfect start to a memorable night.

Toronto Rock vs Rochester Knighthawks

After a quick start and a great first quarter from our Captain Colin Doyle, the Rock get pummelled and lose 17-9.

Go Rock Go!
